Ever wanted to live out your fantasy of being a dragon-killing, spell-casting hero in the all-encompassing world of Skyrim? Well, now's your chance! Skyrim is a massively popular Bethesda Game Studios video game that has been on the market for over a year. The game itself has won numerous awards and is considered one of the best role playing games ever created. Recently, however, players have found that their game crashes when they try to load it up on their PC. Strangely enough, the PC only crashes if they are running Windows XP. If you're ready to fight dragons and smite giants with ice spells then this might just be what you've been waiting for... Skyrim has very high system requirements. The reason for this is the open world nature of the game. Every NPC, animal, and building needs to be rendered at all times, so having a powerful computer is important if you don't want to experience any lag or long loading times. The minimum system requirements to run Skyrim are as follows: 1. Processor: Dual Core 2.0GHz 2. Memory: 1GB 3. Video Card: DirectX 9 Compatible 4. Operating System: Windows XP The recommended system requirements for running Skyrim are as follows: 1. Processor: Quad Core 2.5 GHz 2. Memory: 2GB 3. Video Card: DirectX 9 Compatible with 512MB RAM (NVIDIA® GeForce® 8800 series or better) and driver version 256MB (Nvidia®)/Version 264MB ( ATI®) swap-less OR DirectX 10 compatible and driver version 256MB (Nvidia®)/Version 264MB ( ATI®). 4. Operating System: Windows XP SP2 OR Windows Vista 5. DirectX Version: DirectX 10 6. Hard Drive Space: At least 30 GB free What about the game itself? It is one of the most popular games ever created, with over seventy million copies sold worldwide to date; Skyrim is also one of the hardest games to mod. The game engine has proven somewhat slow to mod, possibly due to features like dynamic weather, which requires real-time calculations (by applying atmospheric conditions to individual models). A simple task like casting spells can take upwards of five seconds if you are not using mods; with mods, however, this time can be reduced down considerably. Also, the game engine may make you lose track of where your character is in the game world; this can be remedied easily by using Skyrim's built in auto-mapping feature. Spells are much easier to discover when you use mods like "Sneak Tools" or "fISS", which allows for quick and easy modding. Skyrim has over 100 hours worth of content. Unless you're an expert at gaming, completing this game without mods might prove difficult if you don't have a console. cfa1e77820
